To Promote Handwashing Behavior Change the Steps involved include; paving the way, initiating the behavior, the formation of the habit, monitoring, and evaluation in the end.

Thus a consideration for addressing both the physical and psychosocial aspects, for enabling the environment to support successful behavior change, often referred to as ‘hardware’ and ‘software’ is necessary. This approach should address the determinants of hand washing within the enabling environment, included should be the inequities and barriers to access preventing the individuals from washing their hands.
