Think about an organization that you know well. Share a fact about one of this organization's resources (human, financial, technological, relationships, etc.). Would you characterize that fact as a strength or a weakness within this organization? Explain why you feel as you do, in light of the goals the organization is trying to achieve. What would it take to derive even greater value from that resource?
There is a organisation named Engineers Without Border ,which has a student chapter in our college. The primary goal of the organisation is to help the socially and economically marginalized sections of society, using our technical inputs.
The resources possessed by the organisation involves students pursuing engineering from various streams, the management and funds support by the head office and the technology is what students learn and try to implement.
The very strength of the organisation lies in the human resource of it,which involves students from various streams, thus the coming together of the students helps in accumulation of knowledge from different domains, which helps in optimal completion of the project.
Since, this chapter is Non profitable organisation, the starting of project needs the students to invest their money for the project and the amount gets compensated by the organisation. This holds back the students to complete the project on time,as it takes a good amount of time for the approval of project and then releasing if the funds. If there is a smoother system to this, this organisation has potential to do wonders.
