In the given compound there are two functional groups present, one is ketone and other is an amide.

NaBH4 is a reducing agent which preferably reduces aldehyde and ketone functional group in presence of other functionality. NaBH4 transfers hydride at electrophilic reducing center, here it is carbonyl carbon of ketone. Thus here also ketone will get reduced to a secondary alcohol. ethanol is solvent in the reaction. Thus,

Similarly, four molecules of substrate get reduced at a time by a single molecule of NaBH4
