When we consider the predominant forms of employee resistance, we can say that the following two represents the predominant form of resistance:

1. Rational resistance
It is the type of resistance caused due to misalignment of goals, scope, or logical resistance based on rational reasoning and genuine concerns for the current change.

2. Social or emotional resistance
Social resistance can be seen as a form of resistance where the interests of a group are seen to be challenged with the introduction of the change process or restructuring. It goes against the individual values of the groups, their norms, and challenges their understanding. The emotional response, on the other hand, is a psychological factor impacting the aspect of change based on individual sentiments, attitude, and feelings towards the change process.
