Briefly discuss the implementation of MEPS regulation by highlighting its positive implication to the nation.

********Steps to be taken to avoid penalty from authority :

1)To appoint a Registered Electrical Energy Manager or REEM with at least 23 years age with at least 9 month professional experience in Electrical engineering . Also the person must be a registered with the energy commission.

2) Also send appointment letter of REEM to Energy Commission.

3) REEM will see energy efficiency implementation measures are taken at every installation , like

A)use of energy efficient Motors than regular motors.

B)changing to high efficient pumps and compressors

C)changing from CFL to LED lights

D) Use transparent roofing to use sunlight at day time in production area of factory .

4)REEM will seek report from every installation and verify it from his end and then send it online to commission over Energy Management Information System or EMIS report over every 6 months time to avoid penalty.

******To implement MEPS , only energy efficient appliances are allowed to enter consumer market , so that they meet certain minimum energy efficiency criteria. This helps to prevent inefficient products to enter market and manufacturer also have to work on increasing appliance efficiency to sell it .

This will include a rating system of appliances with maximum efficient ones being 5 star rated .

Positive implications to nation are:

1)It will bring energy efficient products in market , so will save the net energy consumption by consumer.

2)It will help to bring down net power consumptions that will help to save electricity for other useful purposes . Also less energy need for same tasks will reduce energy production and save precious non renewable sources of energy and have sustainable future.
