Answer: There are many theories regarding the leadership such as skills theory, Situational Theory, Contingency Theory, Path-Goal Theory etc. They contribute a lot in the nursing as it helps the nursing leader to work, progress and handle the situation as a leader.

A leader have so many qualities such as:

Confidence: The confidence is one of the essential thing a leader must have and to be an effective leader, one should have enough confidence to ensure that other follow commands. If a person himself is unsure about own decisions and qualities, then other team members will not follow him.

Power: The leader should have the power to do work and arrange the work. Power means authority, and along with the authority responsibilities also comes.

Relationships: The leader should have a calm and peaceful relationship with everyone in the organization. He should not create problems to others or provide inconvenience. They should have stronger bonds with the team members as well as to the other staff.

Communication: The leader should have a good quality of communication. A good communicator can be a good leader. Words have the power to motivate people and make them do the unthinkable. He should be able to communicate with people. The communication should be effective, clear and ambition focused.

These things contribute to nursing as these qualities should be in nurse so that the patient may get proper treatment and health care.
