A leader provides effective interaction between manpower, material and time. Though we have lots if leadership theories, the one which works best for me is Democratic style. In this type of leadership, the key component I like most us that the leader values the individual characteristics and abilities of each subordinate and works as a middle man in decision making and shared responsibility. Another factor is that it is based on people centered approach. our department nurse leader, is very democratic. She is very much approachable. I have seen her uses personal and posititional power and cooperative decision methods to draw out ideas from employees snd motivate them to set their own work goals, develop their own plans, control their own practice.
