Question

The modern cell have all the organelle that perform their specific function. For example, nucleus perform its own function , endoplasmic reticulum perorm its own function and same with other organelles. According to endosymbiosis hypothesis, the mitochondria and chloroplast have evolved from prokaryotic cell. The old cell(prokaryotic cell) do not have mitochondria and chloroplast. The mitochondria cell perform the cellular respiration in modern cell and produce large number of ATP to perform various cellular activities. The mitochondria help the present cell to perform various activities and make them highly efficient . On the other hand, proakryotes were less efficient in ATP production because of absence of mitochondria. Similarly , evolution of chloroplast help the plant cell to produce enough glucose molcule that make them largest producer in the food chain and web. Therefore, the organelle evolution according to the endosymbiosis hypothesis make present day cells highly efficient.
