One of the concerns about genetic modification of agricultural plants is the possibility of cross breeding between herbicide-resistant GMOs and weeds, creating superweeds that would be resistant to commonly used herbicides. EXPLAIN how PCR could be used to determine whether such cross-breeding had occurred. (2 points)

1. In PCR, the crucial step is to design primer. If not done properly,leads to non specific amplification. Hence to detect cross breeding event occurred between GMOs crop and weed, completely rely on specificity of designed primers.

2. To detect cross breeding, the primers should be designed for perticularly target sequence. Here, target sequence means that DNA fragment being inserted in plant construct of GMO crop.

3. If cross breeding had happened, the constructed plant fragment from GMO crop and weed can be amplifide and detected using PCR.

3. If same gene construct is detectable in both indicates event of crossbreeding.
