Answer #1

1. UART

- It stands for Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter.

- It is actually available as a integrated chip that is used for asynchronous serial data communication from a computer or a port that is present in any microcontrollers.

- Separate interfacing are required to connect UART and microcontrollers.

- It contains a Shift Register in order to convert between serial and paraller forms as it is very economical to transmit data parallely than serially.

- Two UARTs are used one each at transmitter and receiver.

2. UICC

- It stands for Universal Integrated Circuit Card.

- It is same as the sim card that are used in mobile terminals in GSM terminal.

- The storage is in kilobytes and it ensures safety and security if the personal data.

- It consists of CPU, ROM, RAM and some circuits related to I/O interfaacing.

- Personal Identification Number(PIN) is used for protection of the data.

3. SPI

- It stands for Serial Pheripheral Interface.

- It is used for synchronous serial communication for short distances(ex:embedded systems).

- These devices operate in full-duplex mode i.e communication is possible in both directions.

- Master-Slave architecture is used in these devices.

4. GPIO

- It stands for General Purpose Input/Output.

- These are actually digital pins that are mounted on a imtegrated chip or a microprocessor.

- They can be used for several purposes like moving the data, connecting any input/output device. The way they are used can be configured in the software.
