Question

Problem #3; Steam Line Pressure Loss Steam is sent from the REACTOR COMPARTMENT steam generator to each main engine through a 6 inch (0.152m) inner diameter pipe of commercial steel. Steam is admitted through a well rounded entrance (KL 0.03) and leaves through a sharp edged exit (KL 1.0). There are 2 fully open ball valves (KL 0.05) and 4 flanged elbows (KL 0.3) along the 84 foot (25.6m) run. PRIMARY CIRCUIT SECONDARY CIRCUIT CONCENSER MAIN COOLANT PUMP 3. Calculate the pressure loss in kPa between the steam generator and main engine using the mass flow calculated in problem #2 (25 points) If your answer to the steam mass flow in problem number 2 is not between 10 and 16 kg/s, use 13 kg/s for this problem .You may use Table A-23 to find the dynamic viscosity (only) of steam at the inlet condition
