Amphibians, both terrestrial and aquatic have similar organs that serve a similar function in them. They have granular glands which function towards secreting protein complexes. This is the case of the poisonous frogs, the poison they secrete is released from the granular glands. There is another gland, called the mucus gland. As the name suggests, its function is to secrete mucus. This mucus acts a lubricant and protects the body of the amphibian from microbial pathogens and also aids in homeostasis.
