A) 0.48

B) 0.16

C) 0.63

D) 0.34

E) 0.4

3. A sample of 300 adults from California were genotyped for Gene F. The following are the number of genotypes in this sample:

Answer #1

Genotype frequency in a population is the number of individuals with a given genotype divided by the total number of individuals in the population.

No of Heterozygous genotype (Ff) = 174

Total number of individual in the population = 300

Hence, Frequency of heterozygous genotype =   No: offf Totalno : ofindividual inpopulation

= \frac{174}{300} = 0.58

This result tells us that the allele frequency of Ff is 0.58 .

Answer is option D= 0.58

Drosophila melanogaster populations have two alleles associated with the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase (Adh), F (fast) and f (slow).
