Answer #1

Two types of mutations :-

1. Point Mutations:-

Point mutation are alteration in a single nucleotide or small deletion which affects the function of a single gene. These mutations can be of many types:-

a) Missense mutation- A single nucleotide change leads to change in a single amino acid.

b) Nonsense mutaion- A single nucleotide change in the open reading frame leads to formation of stop codon, as a result the translation of the mRNA is prematurely terminated.

c) Frameshift by addition- It occurs due to incorporation of a single nucleotide in the open reading frame, which completely changes the sequence of the protein due to shift of the wild type frame.

d) Frameshift by deletion- It occurs due to deletion of a single nucleotide in the open reading frame, which completely changes the sequence of the protein due to shift of the wild type frame.

Point mutations can cause various genetic disorder in the host progeny, one of the notable mutation is sickle cell anemia. All of the above mutations leads to changes in the wild type DNA sequence and thus affect the protein. Sometimes the important proteins are not expressed at all, or are truncated and non functional. A single amino acid change can be very deleterious for the host, as it can change protein structure.

2. Chromosomal Mutations

Chromosomal Mutations involves alteration in large segement of any chromosome due to double stranded breaks. It can occur by inversion, deletion, translocation and insertion of chromosomal fragment, these alteration can cause various abnormalities in the host. One of serious problems it can cause is activation of proto oncogenes and supression of tumer suprresion genes.

can someone solve this program using c++ (visual studio)? You have a grid of 4x4 cells which is filled by numbers from 1 to 8. Each number appears twice in the grid. The purpose of the Memory Game is to find the matching numbers. To start the game, Player 1 chooses two cells to uncover the numbers behind them. If the numbers match, player 1 gets to go on and uncover two more numbers. If the numbers don't match, player...

Atoms can bond to other atoms to make molecules. Atoms sometimes break these bonds and form them in a different way. For example, it is possible to take two molecules of hydrogen (H_2) and one molecule of oxygen (O_2), put them near one another, give them a little spark to help them start a reaction, and you will end up with two molecules of water (H_2O). Do you see what happened? Some of the H-H bonds and the O-O bonds...

can help me writing a summary please Chromosomal Aberrations and Human Disorders In addition to mutations that alter the information content of a single gene, chromosomes may be subjected to more extensive alterations that occur most commonly during cell division. Pieces of a chromosome may be lost or segments may be exchanged between different chromosomes. Because these chromosomal aberrations follow chromosomal breakage, their incidence is increased by exposure to agents that damage DNA, such as viral infection, X‐rays, or reactive...
