Salmonella infection -
• Salmonella is spread by the fecal-oral route and can be transmitted by food and water, direct animal contact and also from person to person.

Prevention of infection :-
Salmonella can be found in many foods including eggs, chicken, pork and fruits. So we should -
• Avoid eating raw and undercooked eggs, pork and beef.
• Refrigerate food properly.
• Clean kitchen surfaces before preparing food on them.
• Don't mix cooked food with raw food or use the same utensils to prepare them.

Salmonella also can spread from animals to people and from people to people. So we should -
• Wash hands with soap and water after touching animals, their toys, and their bedding.

Salmonella illness can be serious and is more dangerous in person with low immunity.
• Do not allow an infant or person with a weak immune system to touch animals or their environment.
