Explanation: As the name suggests, a self-managed team is usually managed by the team members itself and therefore, has a lesser level of management or supervisors involved. This results into a flatter organization structure. In a self-managed team, each of the team member is capable of performing variety of organizational tasks such as managing day to day activities, assigning shifts, ordering and purchasing raw materials, making sales pitches, etc.  In some of the organizations, self-managed teams also evaluate the performance of their colleagues.
