Describe an instance when you took on the role as a leader. What did you learn from the experience?
ANS- An instance when i took the role as a leader was during my college seminar. we were total of ten members in our group and i was to lead my team. So firstly we all sat down to discuss about the topic. After lots of discussion we finally came to the topic as entrepreneurship development and relevance of incubation centres. After that I asked my team members to give their viewpoints on it and noted the various points of my team members who gave insightful information about the topic. I myself too gave my points and noted down them too. After that we collaborated all our points and started working on it.We were also asked to deliver a presentation on it and I assigned different tasks to different people. For e.g. to prepare different slides of the presentation i delegated the task to different members of my team while some were very slow in their work so i motivated them by saying that if we do our work properly then we will be able to get good name and fame in our college, our teachers would appreciate us and will give good marks to us and thus they prepared it while i collaborated all the slides together which were prepared by my team members and gave the final edit to our presentation. We too invited many important speakers from our region to speak a few words on our topic. After all these the day came for our presentation where i did the anchoring part and different team members did their work as assigned by me and we delivered our presentation successfully. Everyone appreciated our work and we got good points too. We thanked our speakers for coming and giving us valuable information on the topic
It was definitely an awesome experience which i learnt from this role. The thing which i learnt is that first and foremost one needs to be patient and should not get angry on team members for not giving input or not giving valuable ideas because as a leader we need to guide all and not give orders . we should too get involve in it only then the project will be completed as a team.
