Answer #1

The phenomenon when the individuals are not able to understand something from other's perspectives in known as egocentrism. It is basically the inability to distinguish between the self and the other. Although the prevalence of egocentrism decreases with age, it can still be found in many adults. Even I have experienced egocentrism at this age when I was debating with another friend of mine about the recent changes in the economic policies of the country. My friend tried and explained how this policy is bad if I think from the perspective of the farmers but I was not able to take their perspective into consideration and found the policy to be beneficial from my perspective and this is an example of egocentrism in adulthood.
