What attributes make miRNA a potent agent for silencing gene expression?
miRna are small noncoding RNA molecule which are about 22 nucleotides long and helps in Rna silencing and post transcriptional gene expression. These are few attributes which make miRna a potent agent for silencing gene expression because-
a- While many miRna are located inside the cell, there are some miRna are known to circulate around. These are known as circulatory miRna. These gives them more coverage to fo silencing.
b- The human genome itself encodes for about more than 1000 miRna which are present in abundance.
c- they usually appear to have emmersed independently with different primary modes of action.
d- They have almost perfect pairing with mRNA in plants which make them more easy pick for gene silencing.
