I think that Alex’s leadership/managerial philosophy is more based off Theory Y and Z. I think that Alex shows that he believes workers can and will be motivated in the workplace by being involved and seeing that they are cared for and their say matters. They are being involved in the decision making process, which speaks to both of those Theories. Alex is assigning tasks/directing, while speaking to each individual about what they need to do, so that they can be motivated, but also know that they have the support that they need. If workers are being involved in the processes, they are also seeing that their hard work is needed and appreciated, which can cause an increase in productivity.
