The progressive movement at the beginning of a new era and new America was also highly influenced by the different leadership styles of Taft, Wilson, and Roosevelt. The US focused on itself but was also focusing on making connections with other nations to strengthen themselves and make an alliance with the other nations. The economy was somewhat stable, the labor force was unstable when trying to achieve fair payment since there was a change in race and gender. The racial ties were huge during the progressive movement, due to the differential views on race and the rejected minorities. All minority groups were affected, especially the African American. However, Roosevelt also made it worse by diminishing the African Americans and ignoring the fact that they helped the whites during the battle against the Europeans. Over time, however, we can see a huge change when Booket T. and Roosevelt are seen seated next to each other. Besides Roosevelt's ignorance, we can see some positives, such as the protective labor legislation, public health programs, and also the establishment of the National Women's Trade Union League. All in all, the progressive movement was a very dramatic change and was fully focused on the improvements of social and economic relations. Overcoming the negatives such as race, gender, and labor barriers helped reform the nation's political status and the US image.

A lot of improvement can seen in social and economical situations of African-Americans in comparison to 1990s, but stil a lot more need to be done.

1. African Americans are much more educated today than they were in 1990s. But still lag behind whites in overall educational attainment. More than 90 percent African American have graduated from high school.

2. The substantial improvement in their education led to improvement in wages, incomes, wealth and health since 1990s.

3. With respect to homeownership , unemployment, and incarceration , America has failed to deliver much progress for African Americans over the year.
