Mushrooms are examples of fungi. They are the filamentous fungi, which produce spores. They grow on dead and decaying organic matter. They are rich in protein. Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of the fungi, fruiting bodies include basidiocarp which produce basidiospores. These include multicellular filaments.
