1. The First Organism to Evolve are thought to have been..
A. Prokaryotes
B. Protists
C. Unicellular Fungi
D. Multicellular Alga
E. Molluscs
Option A
First organisms to evolve on this earth are prokaryotes because of their very simple metabolism. They do not have a nucleus and the genome of the cell is concentrated in a membrane less region of cytoplasm called nucleoid. These organisms show anoxygenic photosynthesis in which do not liberate oxygen.
After prokaryotes came the oxygenic cyanobacteria which were able to perform photosynthesis and release oxygen in the environment. These organisms were responsible for conversion of reducing atmosphere to oxidizing atmosphere.
