Ans 1) RNA splicing is a process which removes the introns that are the non coding gene sequence from the mRNA. The active site is that the site of the enzyme which binds to substrate and this initiates a chemical reaction. During the RNA splicing where the spliceosome which forms the large RNA-protein complex and it consists of snRNPs. The major spliceosome splice has the splice sites 5’-splice site with GU and at the 3’ splice site, it has AG. The spliceosome consists of U1, U2, U4, U5 and U6 snRNPs and there are number of proteins. The complex E consists of U1 snRNP that bind to GU sequence which is located at the 5’ splice site of intron. Post this splicing factor 1 binds followed by binding of U2AF1 and U2AF2. This is followed by formation of the spliceosome complex and helps in removal of the introns and joining of the exons.
