Answer:

Motives: Motives are the key forces that drive the individual to perform. Without motive it is difficult for any person to do any work, as all the works are linked with the motives and motives are the forces that encourage the individual to execute the required works/tasks.

Motives are craft motive, compensation motive and moral concern motives. The craft motive is the motive the person get from the executing the craft and seen that his talent and skill sets are explored and improved. Compensation motive is the motive which is linked with the compensation and compensation motivate the individual to perform the work/task. The Moral concern is the motive that wants the people to remain morally and wants to do the works/tasks that impacts the moral of the individual.

We can find some of the other motives like interest and hobby, survival motive, ambition motive, competition motive, etc. Motives are related with values and ethics and people follow the values and ethics. Many motives are not related with value and ethics as they explore other means and short term benefits and advantages.

Examples –

  • Employee work in the organization to seek adequate wage and welfare bonus for his family. So his family survival is the motive.
  • Political leader is addressing people for the motive that people with vote him during the elections.

Yes, basic motives are same for all, but routine motive are different for different industries and professions. Because each industry and professional have different objective and targets and they have respective motives for each of their business targets/objectives. Hence we can say that motives are different for different industries and professional.

Yes, our motives change over time, because our requirement changes over time and requirements are linked with the motives, so our motives are also changing over time. We know that time can change everything. So motive also get changed with time.
