  • Therefore, to maintain the balance, the cells will try to dilute the medium by giving out water.
  • Due to this the osmalarity of the cells will decrease as the concent ion of the solution inside the cell has increased on giving out water.
  • Due to the decrease in the water content, the cells will now shrink.
