Answer #1

Arguably, the central point of metabolism is what enzyme complex which divides anaerobic and aerobic metabolism?

A) G3PDH- It converts glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate to 1,3 bisphosphoglycerate. So it does not divide aerobic and anaerobic metabolism.

B) Hexose Kinase- this phosphorylates hexose. So, it does not divide the metabolism into aerobic and anaerobic.

C) PDC- This converts pyruvate to acetyl CoA. This is required for kreb's cycle. So, it is the one which divides aerobic and anaerobic metabolism.

D) alpha keto dehydrogenase- this is an enzyme of kreb's cycle. This does not divide aerobic and anaerobic metabolism.

So, the correct answer is C.
