Developing a new treatment for ovarian cancer
Dr Alice Soragni and her team in US are testing a new drug for the treatment of ovarian cancer. Every day more than 20 cases of ovarian cancer has been diagnosed with serious High grade serous ovarian carcinoma .
With this type of cancers the important cancer protecting protein called p53 get deactivated from the body. These protein are often called as guardian of genome . which helps in protecting DNA and other cells from damaging .
mutation are also an common reason p53 deactivation in HGSOC. These prevents p53 from working and favours cancer progression. so the Dr has developed a new type prototype drug called ReACp53.
Which stops p53 protein sticking together and helps them stay functional always.
