Can more than one different kind of selection (say, stabilizing and disruptive) happen at the same time?
No at one time only one type of selection can happen. Because in case of stabilization selection the stabilized characters are selected by nature. In case of stabilization selection the mean or the avarage characters become more favourable in the environment. For ex human baby body weight at their birth time have an avarage value. In case of disruptive selection the extreme characters are selected by nature. Here we can see nature select two different types of characters one is avarage type and other is extreme type, so it can be said that these two type of selection can not occur at the same time.

Here the 1st graph is for stabilization selection and 2nd is for disruptive selection.

Match one of the following terms to each part: Natural selection, speciation, disruptive selection, allele frequencies, directional selection a)Through time organisms change morphology making them different species is called? b) When an organism is fit and withstands change in their environment they can adapt and are selected to live longer and breed more is called? c)When traits change in populations the genotypes change which leads to this in the population?
Comparing the performance of selection sort and insertion sort, what can one say? A) Selection sort is more efficient than insertion sort B) Insertion sort is more efficient than selection sort C) The efficiencies of both sorts are about the same D) The efficiencies of both sorts depend upon the data being sorted
Are any
traits more likely to be under directional selection than
stabilizing or disruptive selection? (The best fit is the one with
the greater R2value.
Select “Display R2
value on chart” to see this).

One selective force (or mixture of forces) limits the largest viable birth weight of a human baby, while another selective force limits the smallest viable birth weight of a baby. This is called .............. natural selection. a. Artificial b. Fictional c. Directional d. Disruptive e. Stabilizing A population splits into two rather different populations. The two phenotypic extremes of the original population are favored over the more common central phenotype of the original population. This is called ............ natural selection....
