While interviewing a healthcare industry leader, the importance of business communication skills was pointed out. The person is a military officer holding the position for several years and is quite senior but he is aware of the role communication plays. The questions asked to him were:

4. Are soft skills important? To what extent?

The answers made it clear that even in healthcare communication is considered to be important and there is no substitute. Soft skills are important skills in the field and cannot be ignored anyhow.
