You can't make a motor using direct current and electromagnet that doesn't require switches. Why not?
DC motor does not have any switches and because the current is
direct so it doesn't oscillate.
The explanation to this is in the working of DC motor.
Since, there are no switches in DC motor, commutators and brushes
can be used as switches. There is no direction associated with DC
so that is why brushes are required to provide break periodically
and reverse the direction of the current after the exact half
rotation of the rotor thus, maintaining the direction of the
torque. So, a dc motor works without switches.

As you have learned, an electromagnet is a magnet that is produced by electric current. Think about how electromagnets are used and what you have seen or heard of them being used for. In your initial discussion post, respond to the following: (Please answer ALL questions!) Which of the principles or laws discussed in this module explain how an electromagnet works? Describe in detail two modern applications of electromagnets. Do these electromagnets draw a large amount of current or a...
You need to make a motor turn on and turn off for the following conditions: If the operator wants it to start and run continuously until he stops it If the operator wants it to start and stop based on a pressure. Start it at 10psi, stop it 30psi. Draw the motor control schematic for hardwired relay control using pressure switches Draw the PLC ladder logic diagram using pressure switches as digital inputs

If you don't conserve angular momentum you can't make any transitions! How can you make any transitions if you don't conserve angular momentum?' (a) (2 points) If an electron makes a transition with Deltal = 1 and Deltaj = 0 (i.e. magnitude of the total angular momentum doesn't change but the orbital angular momentum of the electron does change), how is this possible? How can a system absorb the angular momentum of the photon without the magnitude of its angular...
I'm working on Graph implementation in Java. I can't figure out why the method isConnected() using Breadth-first traversal doesn't work. It always returns false, and its count is always zero. Could I get a piece of advice? public boolean isConnected() { if (isEmpty()) return false; Iterator<T> traversal = iteratorBFS(0); int count = 0; while (traversal.hasNext()) { traversal.next(); count++; } System.out.println(count); return (count ==...

1. Why can't perfect competitors make an above-normal profit in the long-run 2. What is the significance that profit maximization for the perfect competitor occurs where P = MC - MR - ATC? 3. Why don't we have a perfectly competitive system? (go over each of the requirements for perfect competition and explain why that does not occur). 4. Which of the requirements do you think is the most important reason we don't have a system of perfect competition? Explain.
