3. The base sequence for complementary strand is 3'-CTAAGT-5'. For complementary strand of DNA it will be of opposite polarity from 3' to 5' direction. And there will be C against G and T against A and vice versa.

4. Steps and enzymes in DNA replication:

a) Initiation of replication at site of origin and attachment of RNA primer with the help of RNA primase.

b) Attachment of DNA helicase to both the strand and unwind the double stranded DNA.

c) Proper synthesis of new DNA fragments with the help of DNA polymerase in both the strand by adding proper deoxyribonucleotides.

d) Gluing of okazaki fragments of lagging strand by DNA ligase to form continuous strand.

e) Proof reading function of DNA polymerase to check the mistake in replication.

f) Inducing supercoiling by DNA topoisomerase.

5. New DNA strand always form in 5'-3' direction opposite to the parent strand.

6. a) Definition of transcription:

It is the process of formation of mRNA from DNA molecule in living systems with the help of RNA polymerase. Genetic information of DNA molecule copied from one strand to form single stranded RNA molecule.

b) Definition of translation:

It is the biological process of biosynthesizing protein molecule from from mRNA in ribosomes of cell. In translation the genetic information finally translated into proteins.

7. Base sequence of mRNA will form during transcription is

3'-CGGUAUAAC-5'.

8. Amino acid for each codon

a. UAU- Tyrosine

b. CAU- Histidine

c. UCA- Serine

d. UCU- Serine
