usage- you could use that software to create diagrams like use case diagrams, ER models, sequence diagrams etc which are necessities during desgin phase of software development lifecycle

example- javascript

usage- we can use javascript to create web projects ideally but also can be used for other projects like online games. Javascript adds behaviour to the webpages like eventhandling,error reporting,animation, security etc

3) configuration management(CM) tools-

example- Docker, Chef, Puppet etc

usage- It enables consistency across all phases of product lifecycle and also between the final product and client requirements.

4) COTS documentation tools-

example-slack

usage- Slack can be used by the project team to communicate as well as create documentation. Its basically a collaboration tool which can be used for various purposes.
