Question
I need to include a one sentence thesis statement that indicates the position that I am taking in my paper about culture and interpersonal communication. I need to include the terms culture and interpersonal communication in the thesis.
Based on what I wrote In this three paragraphs, what would be a good thesis for me?
The video clip that I will be using is A clip from people in America: How social class divides us. The reason I have decided to use this video clip is because this is something that everyone is part of, whether you are rich, poor, homeless or middle class. Another reasan why I have decided to use this video is owing to the fact that I come from a country where the economy is not so good, a lot of people are poor in the Dominican Republic. I was lucky enough to be the son of a man who had a good job, and we were able to live descent when we were back in my country. My dad had a lot of friends who only cared about his money. We were not rich at all, my family just made more money than the others. I know how being profile is, this is why I have decided to use this video clip. The first article that I chose was The unique challenges of first-generation college student. I picked the following quote, But unlike students whose parents have earned a degree, they also often see college as a way to bring honor to their famililes. The reason I chose this quote is because of my mother, she didnt go to college she studied a profession, and she is always telling my sister and i how she studied this and that, so if we fal to finish college it would really disappoint her. he second article that I chose was looking another culture in the eye. A quote that I chose from this article is 1 try to remember that my own culture bilases continually affect my perceptions. That way, I can focus on understanding behavior in other cultures I encounter, and keep finding the bright eyes in the room. The reason I chose this quote is because as I came to the United States, I started seeing a lot of people from different cultures. In my country, all I saw was Dominican, Haitian, and few Chinese people. I didnt know so many races existed before coming to live here. In America, I have seen people do things that I founded weird, but came to realized that is part of their culture. Every culture is different.

1-In his article, "Blurring the Lines between Language and Culture", Fatiha Guessabi, a professor of Languages and Translation in the Literature and Humanities faculty at the Université de Béchar in Algeria, argues that culture is a language in itself. I agree strongly with what Guessabi mentioned in the article because languages are the ways by which we can express our culture and learn other cultures, so learning a language means learning the culture and learning the culture can be done by learning the language. Good introductory paragraph with both sentences....
