Answering the first Question i.e. 19.

19.

For the given activity, every activity have tow parameters whose are

deadline - d

execution time - e

arrival time - a

For the activity,

Earliest time for the activity is = a + d

Latest time of the activity = a + e

X

= difference of the earliest stime - lastest time

= d - e

Y is defined as the time it takes to do an activity which is equal to the execution time -  arrival time  i.e a -  e

X - Y = d - e - a +  e = d - a
