Deductive reasoning refers to the type of reasoning from one or more statements to reach a logically certain conclusion. It makes assumptions based on supported ideas and goes from something small to something large. It builds on specific instances to come to a conclusion. An example of an argument using deductive reasoning:
The first premise states that all objects classified as "men" have the attribute "mortal." The second premise states that "Ram" is classified as a "man" – a member of the set "men." The conclusion then states that "Ram" must be "mortal" because he inherits this attribute from his classification as a "man.
Decision-making is the cognitive process resulting in the selection of a belief or a course of action among several alternative possibilities. Every decision-making process produces a final choice, which may or may not prompt action. It refers to evaluating various ways to land to one conclusion which is the best fit for that particular situation. It is is the process of making choices by identifying a decision, gathering information, and assessing alternative resolutions. For instance, when i had to choose one career option, i read about all my choices, evaluated their future scope, how much money the current professionals in the field incur, what is the scope in US for it.Then i decided what to choose in life.
They are a kind of thinking process which use the brainstorming activity and presence of mind to evaluate what is correct and what is not.

Explain the terms “deductive reasoning” and “decision making”, providing examples from your daily life that illustrates each of these cognitive processes. Make sure you support your discussion with information from the unit’s Readings.
Describe the differences between the use of the binomial and Poisson distribution. Provide one example of how each can be used and explain why you selected the example.
describe the differences and similarities between viruses, worms, and Trojan horses. Provide an example of at least one of these and describe that damage that can be done when a person or corporation is infected.
Provide a real-life example of how the confirmation bias can affect a decision-making process that can be important for your life. Explain the potential consequences if you do not apply critical thinking to that decision.
APA paper at least one page. Analyze and answer the following questions. Use real-life examples. How are critical thinking and decision making related? Think about some styles of decision making such as intuition or more systematic approaches. What are some obstacles to critical thinking and how can you avoid deductive and inductive reasoning fallacies? Give examples. What are some habits of critical thinkers? How do those habits contribute to more successful decisions? Give an example of a time when you...
Describe the five characteristics of life, and list several nonliving things that possess at least two of these characteristics. Explain how an atom relates to the biosphere by describing the levels of organization. Why is a cell, and not an atom or a molecule, considered the basic unit of life? Draw and explain the relationship between producers and consumers (including decomposers). How does a homes’ air conditioning system illustrate homeostasis? Describe the main differences between asexual and sexual reproduction. Why...
Describe the chemical differences between strong and weak acids. Give an example of each, and provide the pH of each example. (3 points) Describe the chemical differences between strong and weak bases. Give an example of each, and provide the pH of each example. (3 points) In your own words, describe the difference between an inorganic and organic compound. (1 point) Give an example of one inorganic substance and: (1 point) Write the chemical formula for it and write out...
Accurately distinguish the basic assessment similarities and differences between Delirium and Dementia. COMPARE: Describe at least three (3) signs/symptoms of delirium and dementia which are alike. For example, in the integumentary system, pigmented lesions were alike in that they had a color change from the underlying skin color. CONTRAST: Explain at least four (4) signs/symptoms of delirium and dementia which vary between the disorders. For example, in the integumentary system, benign lesions had a uniform color but malignant lesions had...
