Give an induistry reflection on leadership based on the following:

Leadership Reflection - focus on the different leadership and management techniques/styles deployed throughout the project in order to meet the deliverables of the RFS across hierarchies, reporting, motivation, discipline, personality types etc.

  • Leadership, management and cultural dynamics of the group.
  • Leadership practices of the individual student, others in the project group, and the project sponsor professionals.
  • How leadership styles can be adapted to get the most out of a team or an organisation.

I worked in a Retail industry where i came to know of a Manager who handle all the operations of the retail store where i worked. The Manager acted a Situational leader. Situational leader is that type of leader who changes his leadership style according to the situation.

One day, The top management decide to merge the retail store with new store means the company was merged so as we all know that any new change affect the people working in an organization. due to that, all employees were feared that they will lose their job or affect their position. all personalities were started to clash with each other.

In that situation, The leader handles with setting a open communication policy in which a clear reporting was set. In that reporting, employees are to send their work report even in the change and get to communicate with top management to clear their issues.

This set a bottom to top hierachiy of communication to make sure employees are not afraid of new change instead they see that this new project to merge the company will bring more benefit to organization as well to employees.

When the project was done and merge of both stores occur then many new employees from different background started to work which increase the diversity of the retail store and management started to notice issue that employees will not involve with each other easily so Manager organize a diversity training to motivate each employee to accept and respect diversity.

This showed manager's planning and organizing function as good manager. He also motivate and inspire employees of the organization to face challenges and came out top out of all situtations.for example- he was was good and friendly to those employees who support and hard working but he can show his strict side to employees who take work for granted and work and shoe lazy nature so he adapt to situation.
