ELL stands for English Language Learners. These are basically the students of English language from non English backgrounds. These students have a non English speaking background. They can speak a little bit of English but they find difficulty in making use of academic level of English.
There are various problems which are thought to be associated with ELL students and school system. Teachers have fix time period for taking a class and they can teach only a fix number of students in that allotted time.
Some schools are are also devoid of technological resources which prohibit them to provide more and effective time to students for the purpose of teaching English language to those students from Non English speaking backgrounds.
There is an urgent need that teacher should have complete knowledge of background of the students. Teacher with bilingual knowledge can proved to be an asset in this whole matter. Teacher should be allowed some freedom by school administration so that extra time can be devoted for those students in need.
Use of technology can also be useful in this matter. Teaching English through video conferencing can also be an alternative. Bookish knowledge may create an aura of boredom. Teaching through models can also proved to be fruitful. Interactive classroom always helps in easy language learning.
