Taking into account the traits of managers X and Y and theory X and Y, I believe that I would want to work with a manager who represents the traits of manager Y.
The understanding here is simple; Y managers allow their employees to have autonomy over the decision-making process, making it so that they can enjoy the utilization of their creativity and outlook which helps them develop their skills. Being that this also adds to the aspect of collaboration, synergy, trust, and understanding between the manager and the employees would allow for a more productive workplace environment. The fact that I can develop my creativity while also being able to add value to the team I work with would have the most significant consideration and motivation for my decision.
Theory Y managers are hand-off, and therefore, it would not lead to them micromanaging the processes. Involving others in the decision-making process would provide a better understanding of how to best approach a situation.
