It is the most important part of meiosis because at this point, recombination or genetic combination takes place place. If this process is not genetically controlled, it lead to the improper chromosome segregation and lead to the aneuploidy. In this condition, organism have either lesser number of chromosomes or extra chromosome than the normal level. For example, in humans, turner syndrome occur takes place due to presence of extra X chromosome in females.
