Answer #1

To clone a fragment of mouse DNA we need following enzyme activities and DNA’s

  1. Vector DNA: Vector DNA helps to generate multiple copies of desirable DNA fragment. In most of the cases Plasmid (a extra , small, circular DNA of bacterial cell) act as a vector.
  2. Restriction Endonuclease: Restriction endonuclease is an type of enzymes which is used as an molecular scissor to cut desirable fragment from DNA. They recognize specific sequence and help to separate desirable fragment from DNA strand.
  3.   DNA Ligase: DNA ligase is an enzyme which is used to join two different segments of DNA with each other by creating bond between the base pairs. Ligase enzyme helps to bind desirable DNA fragment with Vector DNA.
  4. Kinases: Kinases are enzymes used to label the DNA fragments.
