It will not affect the transcription process since it is present upstream to the promoter sites ( TATAA box) TATA box binding protein binds with TATA sequence and it is essential for the transcription machinery to start the transcription at transcription initiation site. Transcription initiation site in the above gene is ATG and that is where transcription begins and mRNA will be produced . There will not be changes in mRNA sequenec if mutation occurs in non regulatory or intergenic region
